Sam Roi Yot

We spent the third day of our October break in Sam Roi Yot National Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาสามร้อยยอด). Wow! So many beautiful things to see.

First stop was Phraya Nakon Cave (ถ้ำพระยานคร). Getting there included a quick boat ride (on which our boat captain pointed out dolphins!).

The quarter mile up the mountain to the cave wasn’t easy (essentially a quarter mile uneven stair climb), but we enjoyed the view halfway up.

The cave itself was breathtaking.

On the way back down from the cave we got to see dusky langurs and some macaques.

Then down to the beach to catch the boat back to our vehicle.

Our second stop in Sam Roi Yot National Park was Bung Bua (บึงบัว) where we went on a boat ride through the marsh. The birds, flowers, mountains, water, and sky were all beautiful.

When we first got to our new hotel, we lounged in our private pool, before realizing that the main pool was also essentially private.

All told, a great day!
