Waterfalls and Elephants

Day 2 of our October break, opened with a trip to Pa La U Waterfall (น้ำตกป่าละอู), followed by an excellent (if late) lunch on our way to Elephant Village (หมู่บ้านช้างหัวหิน), we found dinner and some souvenirs at Cicada Market before wrapping up the day at the beach and in the pool.

Pa La U was a fun hike into the jungle. We saw lots of fish and butterflies, as well as some lizards and birds. We saw big trees and used ropes to climb up steep slopes. We made it to level 4 of a the 16 level waterfall.

After Pa La U, we stopped by Isaan Garden House (อีสานบ้านสวน) for lunch at the recommendation of our driver. The restaurant did not disappoint.

While we were looking forward to seeing wild elephants later in our travels, we stopped by Elephant Village for a closer encounter with elephants.

Then after a stop at Cicada market for dinner and souvenirs we ended our day in the water.

OK, you said that you stopped at the Cicada Market for dinner. Were the Cicada’s for dinner?

Nope, that’s just the Market’s name. Somehow we missed providing our guests with a chance to eat any insects.
