This year we had the opportunity to host our family from Well of Bravery for our Songkran break (for an alternative perspective and and additional photos, you can check out their posts here). Our first stop with them was Ayutthaya. It was fun to share with family some of the sites we’d enjoyed seeing previously.

Even more fun were the various Songkran happenings. Ayutthaya is big enough to have a big Songkran party, but small enough that that party feels mainly like neighbors throwing water on each other. In addition to the usual floats, Ayutthaya’s parade included painted elephants.

But of course the real fun started when the water guns came out.
The city had even created multiple refill stations. Some of which were set up like forts.
