Nong Nooch

On our way back to Bangkok from Koh Chang, we spent two nights outside Pattaya visiting Nong Nooch, hanging out at a villa, and swung by the world’s largest 7 Eleven.

Nong Nooch

Nong Nooch bills itself as a botanical garden, but if you’re coming from the United States, that is going to give you the wrong impression. Perhaps a better description would be that it is an eclectic collection of collections; it is a plant collection, a car collection, an elephant collection, a dance collection, a Buddhist artifact collection, a playful sculptures collection, and a life-size concrete dinosaur collection; and those collections are all scattered amongst each other.

With the right playful attitude, Nong Nooch can be a lot of fun. I would not recommend the cultural show. Also, if you are concerned about how animals are treated more than impressed by what they can be trained to do, I wouldn’t recommend the elephant show either. Foreigners with Thai work permits or Thai school IDs can qualify for Thai pricing.

7 Eleven

Our kids are fans of the many snacky foods available at 7 Eleven here in Thailand, so when they realized the world’s largest 7 Eleven was in our vicinity, they wanted to pay it a visit.

The store (in the beach city of Pattaya) has a nautical theme inside and out.
