Today we travelled from Khon Kaen to Ubon Ratchathani with stops in both Roi Et and Yasothon. In both cities we climbed unique structures for a view of a park.
Before leaving Khon Kaen we enjoyed a great bagel breakfast at Prodigy.Coffee

In Roi Et (ร้อยเอ็ด or 101) we went to Roi Et Tower (หอโหวด 101). Wow! I had no idea how great a stop it was going to be. Outside were pretty gardens and models of iconic towers. Inside were numerous settings from which to enjoy the 34 floor high view.
Before Leaving Roi Et, my son purchased his own wot (the Isaan instrument after which the tower is modeled).
On our way into Yasothon, we enjoyed another great meal. This time at Cherpuun Cafe & Cuisine. I would heartily recommend the Spaghetti Carbonara. Our kids got more excited about the desserts.

The Yasothon viewing deck was a little less elegant than the one we’d left behind in Roi Et; it was in the mouth of a toad.

Inside the toad, not only was there a viewing deck, there was also a museum with an interesting blend of religious folk tales centered around a toad character, scientific information about frogs and toads, and general information about the Yasothon area.
Right next door to the toad, was a Naga that shared admission tickets with the toad and included a similar assortment of folk/religious/scientific exhibits focused on Naga/snakes.
